Can't wait!!!

Alright, I went through a lot on the weekend, like looking at show homes, falling in love, trying to see how we can make it work, realizing that now isn't the time for that, and back again.

Now... we're looking at redoing the kitchen! I am so excited about this! Our kitchen is probably original, so it's as old as I am... and I know I could do with a make over ;) But anyway, we're going to get Ikea cupboards. I was there last night, trying to make sure I have the plan the way I want it. The ladies there didn't really seem like they wanted to help, so I didn't ask. But I will have to, and hopefully there will be someone there next time that would like to be helpful. I picked out which counter top I want. And also saw a dishwasher that made me drool! It was called an integrated dishwasher, meaning it has the same front as the cupboards!!! *squeal* And the dishwasher also looked like a good quality one. It was energy efficient, and had a stainless steel interior which I think is supposed to make it quieter.

So, we're just getting white cupboards, with a little detail in them. So I'm going to get a counter top that is dark. I would also like to do a tile back splash, so I'll be looking into that soon.

And... I want to do new tiles on the floor. We just did it 3 years ago when we bought the house, but we had a portable dishwasher for a while and unfortunately, the tiles that were in the path of the dishwasher cracked. So, I want to take out the tiles just from the kitchen... and leave the ones in the back entryway and bathroom. For those of you that know what I'm talking about... I need to figure out a way to smoothly transition from one tile, to the next. So, if you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it. I've thought about either just doing the next tiles, and maybe they'll be transition enough, or doing a half tile row and then the new ones?? Let me know what you think.

Alright, I guess that's all for now. And yes, I have finished the blanket, and no I haven't taken a picture of it yet... but I will get to it soon, hopefully...

Just a little advice about counter tops. My smooth dark countertop is very hard to keep looking good. The textured kind always looks good.

How come she didn't put Auntie Ell? :)
I can understand your excitment. You don't need a makeover. The people at Ikea didn't help you, because they thought you were 16, and who would buy a kitchen at that age. If they thought you were going to spend money, they would have been on you like vultures.
Can you still get the tiles you have in the kitchen?
